Sietch Grabrear
Theme Camp
Come visit us in Black Rock City!
We will be located at 6:00 and Fossil.
Sietch is the name used in the Dune sci-fi series
for the community cave dwellings of the Fremen,
the indigenous people of the desert planet Arrakis, also known as Dune.
The Sietch Grabrear will provide a home base for Shai-Hulud the Sandworm Mutant Vehicle and it's Fremen crew— also known as Wormies.
We will not be
re-enacting
Dune, but we
are inspired by
the books by Frank Herbert, and the movies.
The Sietch will offer rest and recreation opportunties for both the Wormies and visiting citizens of Black Rock City. Members are encouraged to contribute their art to the camp.

Camp Sietch Grabrear Philosophy
Wormies are a self sufficient bunch of coconuts, and creative, happy campers. We are great fun in a dust storm too.
Members Are:
- Radically Expressive Participants. Free to create their own art, activities, costuming and performances and engage others.
- Radically self reliant individuals who wish to share their camp with like minded friends and give to the community.
- Have read the 2009 Survival Guide, and will be well prepared.
- Willing to follow the Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethic. Except for that silly part about not wearing colorful clothes.
- Responsible for their own entertainment, meals, water, gray water, recycling and trash.
